I'm so sorry to the family. I tried to get back from Oklahoma in time to pay my respect but just got back Matt was a sweet and very loved friend of mine I will miss him but I will never forget him. God bless you all and may Matt R.I.P. I love you my friend

I worked very closely with Mathew up until his death. He was a pleasant person to be around, and always wanted to strive to be the best he could be. He was such a joyful person and always had a smile on his face each encounter we shared! May God bless your family and may he rest in peace.

Mathew's Obituaries

Mathew R. McKinley, age 35, of Coulterville, IL passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 7:33 a.m. in SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital, Mt. Vernon, IL.

Mathew was born on May 22, 1982 in Sparta, IL, a son to Dennis and Melba “June” (Hood) McKinley. Mathew was an industrial welding engineer at Magnum Steel Works, Mt. Vernon, IL. He was of the Methodist faith, a member of the American Welding Society, enjoyed fishing and hanging out at work with his friends and family.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Melba “June” and Klif Kline of Coulterville, IL; his father, Dennis McKinley of Coulterville, IL; grandmother, Joycelyn Kasten of Jackson, MO; one brother, Jason McKinley of Addieville, IL; a nephew and niece, Jacob and Anna McKinley of Addieville, IL; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Roy and Marcella McKinley; his maternal grandparents, Harrie and Clara Hood; and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth McKinley.

Funeral services will be held at Coulterville United Methodist Church, Coulterville, IL on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Kimberly Allen officiating. Interment will be in Swanwick Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick, IL.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday at Coulterville United Methodist Church, Coulterville, IL from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Coulterville United Methodist Church.
