I'm very sorry to hear about Ruth, she was a great friend of my moms, and when my mom was sick she always stopped in and checked on her. Ruth was a very good person. Praying for the family

There are no adequate words to express my admiration and gratitude for Ruth Haner. She married my mother's nephew, my first cousin. Ruth provided assistance and transportation for my parents when Ralph McCuen, my father, lost his eyesight. She helped my mother care for him during his fight with lung cancer and later for my mother after his death while working and raising a family. As an only child that lived 255 miles away and also was working and raising a family, Ruth was a Godsend! ...

Please accept my condolences. I was so very sad to hear of Ruth's passing as was my mother and brother. She was such a caring and kind person. She did so much for my grandfather and grandmother as did Junior and her entire family. She will be missed.

Ruth's Obituary

Ruth Haner, age 82, of DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 6:02 p.m. in Marshall Browning Hospital, DuQuoin, IL.

Ruth was born on July 21, 1935 in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter to Ida Hauser.

She married Everett Haner Jr. on August 20, 1953  in Marion, IL, and he preceded her in death on August 4, 2015.  Ruth worked as a caregiver for Gold Plate and enjoyed sewing.

Survivors include her son, David (Christina) Haner of DuQuoin, IL; a daughter, Jodi Bible of Cobden, IL; nine grandchildren, Kody (Katie) Greenwood, Klay Greenwood, Noah Bible, Kristina Benson, Jamie (David) Shaffer, Charlie Kellerman, Matthew Kellerman, Crystal Kellerman and Shea Kellerman; and nine great-grandchildren, Garrick Blevins, Emerson Benson, Teague, Keane, and Wynne Shaffer, Justin Soule, Darrian Nix, and Bradley and Brett Kellerman.

She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Hurley Hester; husband; brother, Alfred Goldman; and sister, Elsie Snider.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
