Dorothy “Dot” Jones Bodkins, 90, of Harrisonburg, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, March 17, 2018. Mrs. Bodkins was born August 1, 1927, and was the daughter of the late Walter and Hazel Jones. She graduated from Mt. Clinton High School in 1947. On October 16, 1948, Dot married James “Bill” Bodkins who survives. Also surviving are her daughter, Susan Shifflett and husband, Ray of Penn Laird; son, Ronald Bodkins and wife, Linda of McGaheysville; grandson, Christopher Bodkins and wife, Layton of Denver, CO and granddaughter, Kathryn Bodkins of Harrisonburg. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg, with Pastor Wayne Wright officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her honor to Harrisonburg Rescue Squad, 1700 Reservoir St., Harrisonburg, VA., 22801; or Rockingham/Harrisonburg SPCA, 2170 Old Furnace Rd., Harrisonburg, VA., 22803.
