Ernest James “Jim” Snyder, age 75, of Casey, IL passed away at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 2, 2018 with his family by his side at the home of his son in Neoga, IL. He was born August 3, 1942 in Casey, IL, the son of Doyle Eugene Snyder and Doris Louise Huffman Snyder.
Survivors include his sons, Aaron Snyder (Kristen) of Neoga, IL and Ron Snyder (Julie) of Casey, IL; grandchildren, Mitch and Kalie Snyder and Chad and JR Wilson; son in law, Albert Wilson of Marshall, IL; brother, Morris Snyder of Charleston, IL; sister, Shirley Wiza (Fonz) of Hatley, WI; Aaron’s mother, Lavora Snyder Green of Casey, IL; nephews and nieces, Brian Snyder, Wade Snyder, Robin Walkowski, Vickie Windward and Lisa Spurlock; great nephews and nieces, Dennis James Spurlock, Skyler and Justin Walkowski, Anthony, Josh and Michael Windward. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Harry Snyder; daughter, Tammy Snyder Wilson, and nephew, Michael Spurlock.
Jim previously worked for Ettlebrick Shoe Factory and Trailmobile. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and playing cards. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed babysitting Aaron and Kristen’s dog, Rufuss.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Markwell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Thursday evening at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
