Was very sad to hear of Johns passing. I just had a good visit with him at Moonshine Store at the lunch run. He was a great friend and classmate ! My prayers go out for his family.

My condolences to the Glendenning family. John was a good man he will be missed.

John Roy's Obituary

John Roy Glendenning, age 55, of Terre Haute, IN formerly of Martinsville, IL passed away at 1 a.m. on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at his home. He was born July 31, 1962 in Terre Haute, IN, the son of Virgil Benjamin Glendenning and Alice L. Fairbanks Glendenning.

Survivors include his daughters, Beth Glendenning of Carrollton, IL and Brandi Glendenning of Troy, IL; grandson, Cody Steele of Brighton, IL; brothers, Michael Cameron of Muskegon, MI and Stephen Glendenning of Martinsville, IL; sister, Lori Hawkins of Martinsville, IL; mother of his daughters, Debbie Hawley of Brighton, IL; his loving extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Harry James Howe III.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. CST on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Greenwell Funeral Home with Pastor David Wilson officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service at Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N. Washington St., Martinsville, IL.

John was a 1980 graduate of Martinsville High School. He received his cosmetologist license from Long’s Cosmetology School. John worked as an assembly operator for GE Aviation for eight years. Previously he had worked as a chef and cosmetologist at Stephen’s in Martinsville and as a welder at Trailmobile and Layco. One of John’s greatest joys in life was playing golf; he loved motorcycling, fishing and auto racing. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan and enjoyed listening to Rock and Roll Music. John was a loving brother, father and grandfather; he will be greatly missed by everyone that loved him.
