Edwin's Obituaries

 

Edwin Schrader, age 93, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 10:54 a.m. at his home.

Edwin was born on February 15, 1925 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to William H. and Clara (Caupert) Schrader. On October 2, 1948, he married Flossine Caupert at Trinity Lutheran Church, Conant, IL and she survives. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Conant, IL where he had served as chairman of the congregation for 50 years. He had worked as a dairy farmer for 20 years and the road commissioner of Road District 4 for 17 years. Edwin had also served as a member of the 205 School Board, the Farm Bureau Association Board, the Farm Extension Council and Perry County Historical Society and Jail Museum. He owned a steam engine and enjoyed working with it and was a Board Director and lifetime member of the American Thresherman Association. His German heritage was a source of pride for him and he enjoyed speaking German with his family and socializing with his friends at the local feed store.

Survivors include his wife of over 69 years, Flossine Schrader of Pinckneyville, IL; one daughter, Carol Schrader (Sergio Molina) of Festus, MO; two sons, Clifford Schrader of Cutler, IL and Ralph (Debbie) Schrader of Highland, IL; one sister, Wilma (Jack) Ewing of Pinckneyville, IL; one brother, William T. (Georgia) Schrader of Pinckneyville, IL; one sister-in-law, Eunice Schrader of Pinckneyville, IL; three grandchildren, Denise, Caleb and Season; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clarence Schrader and Harold Schrader; and two sisters, Edna Schwarz and Gertrude Schrader.

Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Conant, IL on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend David Kollmeyer officiating. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Conant, IL.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday morning at Trinity Lutheran Church, Conant, IL from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Conant Trinity Graveyard Association.
