Gregory W. Dollar

CHARLESTON, IL – Gregory Dollar, age 56 of Charleston, passed away on April 14, 2018 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.  A Memorial Service, honoring and celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at East Harrison Street Church of God, 17996 East Harrison Street Road in Charleston, with Pastor Curt Weaver officiating.  Inurnment will be in Fairview Cemetery near Oakland at a later date. 

Gregory was born October 17, 1961 in Charleston.  He is survived by his father, Charles Dollar of Charleston; mother, Virginia (Stewart) Williams of Springfield, Missouri; a half sister, Jennifer and her family; and two stepsisters and their families, Janet Smith of Charleston and Becky Sheppard of Texas. He was preceded by his stepmother, Devona Dollar.

Greg was a veteran honorably serving with the United States Air Force.  He was employed by TIMCO Aviation Services when living in Greensboro, North Carolina.  Greg was an avid motorcyclist who enjoyed the camaraderie of his fellow cyclists.
