Jerilyn was a very sweet loving soul. She truly loved and cared about her friends. Even though she was sick she always called to check on me daily until she no longer could. I will miss our talks. Jerilyn was always willing to help someone out. Even when she was struggling herself if she could she would help anyone! I will miss the laughs and good times. Jerilyn Jean Apple, age 62, of Casey, IL passed away at 11:05 p.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Carle Hospital, Urbana, IL. She was born August 4, 1956 in Terre Haute, IN the daughter of Lloyd H. Apple and Martha Frances Jacks Apple.
Survivors include brother, David Morehead (Yvonne) of California; sisters, Frances Kemper (Rex) of Casey, IL; Elaine “Roberta” Perisho (Ronald) of Danville, IL and Marian Black (Jesse) of Casey, IL and many nieces, nephews and friends. Other survivors include her foster mother, Rev. Linda L. Carnahan of Chrisman, IL and her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Alpha Morehead.
Jeri attended school and lived in Casey her entire life. She was a well-respected home health care provider for many years. Jeri loved animals and would care for any stray that found its way to her home and she had a special affection for horses. She was a member of the Casey United Methodist Church.
Memorial donations may be made to a local no kill animal shelter.
Graveside inurnment will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL with Rev. Linda Carnahan officiating.
