Vicki was born August 6, 1940 in Charleston, the daughter of the late Jennings and Nelda (Reynolds) Norman. Vicki was a 1958 graduate of Charleston High School. She was employed at Moore Business Forms in Charleston, where she met her future husband, Lester Lee Trueblood. They were married on October 5, 1969 and they shared 45 years of marriage prior to his death on August 20, 2015. Following her marriage to Les she left Moore Business Forms to become a full time homemaker, wife and mother. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Dr. Ted Trueblood and wife Dr. Janelle Trueblood of Aitkin, Minnesota; four grandchildren, Grace, Hannah, Caleb and Nathanael Trueblood; her sister, Karen (Frank) Kubisz of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; two brothers-in-law, Arlo (Carolyn) Trueblood and Bob Trueblood, all of Missouri; a sister-in-law, Joyce Spidel of Moline, Illinois; and nieces and nephews.
Vicki was a faithful and devoted charter member of the Old State Road Christian Church family. She served her fellow brothers and sisters in Christ as Church Moderator for many years, at one time or another served on every committee, and as an Elder Emeritus. She was also a life member of the Charleston VFW Paul McVey Post 1592 Auxiliary.
Vicki was a loyal friend and she valued the countless friendships she enjoyed. Many included childhood friends of 60 plus years and those known as the “Lunch Bunch”. She was an avid reader and kept informed of current events as they were often topics of conversation. She enjoyed the canine companionship of her dogs, Sam and Bentley, was a fan of the Peanuts comic strip dog “Snoopy”, and was a collector of Precious Moments figurines. Vicki loved her family dearly and always looked forward to the times when her sister Karen came to visit – they usually had a full itinerary. She was so proud of Ted and his accomplishments and loved him and his family immensely. She always looked forward to being a grandmother and felt so blessed by her four grandchildren whom she loved beyond measure. Vicki was witty and smart, gracious and generous, and a woman of faith. There are many fond and happy memories of Vicki to be treasured and she will be truly missed.
