A great lady, one that I loved working with at Five Star. I never saw Maxine without a smile and you could never mistake that she had the love of the Lord Jesus in her heart. We all know she's singing with the angels! Prayers to her family!

Missionary Maxcine C.'s Obituary

Missionary Maxcine C. Davis, age 63, of DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 1:09 p.m. at DuQuoin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, DuQuoin, IL.

Maxcine was born on October 12, 1954 in Blytheville, AR, a daughter to John Wesley and Dorothy (Knowles) Battles. On March 16, 1970, she married Jessie Davis in Cairo, IL and he survives. Maxcine worked as a caseworker at Five Star Industries, DuQuoin, IL for over 12 years and was a member of House of Prayer and Delivery, DuQuoin, IL and St. Paul’s Baptist Church, DuQuoin, IL.

Survivors include her husband, Revered Jessie Davis of DuQuoin, IL; three sons, Jessie D. Davis of Clarksville, TN; Craig Lydell Davis of DuQuoin, IL and Jeremiah Montel Davis of Dallas, TX; two daughters, Melissa Yvette Smith of Dallas, TX and Latanya Simone Davis of Rantoul, IL; five brothers, John Wesley Battles of Blytheville, AR, Walter Lee Battles of Tennessee, Bruce E. Ramsey of Blytheville, AR, Wayne D. Ramsey of Milwaukee, WI and Arlester S. Hill of Paducah, KY; three sisters, Linda Ramsey of Blytheville, AR; Brenda Ramsey of Blytheville, AR and Rose Taylor of Milwaukee, WI; fifteen grandchildren; eighteen step grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Robert Earl Battles; one sister, Regina Hill; and one granddaughter, Alicia Davis.

Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Thursday, June 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jessie Davis officiating. Interment will be at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, DuQuoin, IL.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Memorials may be made to the family of Maxcine C. Davis.
