Sorry to read this of your mother. She was the nicest lady, who took the time for a friendly chat. Karen, I also remember when your dad past away, I'm pretty sure we were neighbors. They are in Heaven together now.

Janet Delana Cooper, age 81, of Casey, IL passed away at 8:23 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Simple Blessings, Casey, IL. She was born March 30, 1937 in Greenup, IL, the daughter of William Ernest Decker and Florence Roberts Decker. On November 10, 1956 she married Phil S. Cooper in Terre Haute, IN. He passed away on January 26, 1993.
Survivors include her children, Kim Cooper (Helen) of Martinsville, IL; Kevin Cooper (Tammy) of Marshall, IL and Karen Carver (Curtis) of Casey, IL; brother, Gene Decker (Roberta) of Casey, IL; sister, Marian Decker of Greenup, IL; grandchildren, Leslee Ann Harris (Brandon), Caleb Carlen, Chelsey Schallenberg (Bryan), Robbie Wilkes (Jessica), Kelsey Cooper, Cami Carver, Colin Carver, Corey Carver and Kyle Carver; great grandchildren, Paul Maynard, Charlie Harris, Kimberly Harris, Penelope Carlen and Brody English; special friend, Bob Scott of Greenup, IL; her Church family and many great friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Ernest, Everett, Donnie and Johnny Decker; sister, Rosebud McElravy and granddaughter, Kory Cooper.
Janet was a 1955 graduate of Casey High School. She was a faithful member of the Casey First Christian Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. Janet was a self-employed house keeper. She loved animals and cared for many in the Casey area. Janet enjoyed music, line dancing, square dancing, baking and time she spent with her family especially her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Jacqueline Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Jack Oak Cemetery, north of Greenup, IL. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
