Dana - so very sorry to hear about your mom's passing. I know you were very close and will miss her dearly. I also know the past few years were rough on everyone. Know that now she is no longer in pain and there will be no hard times ahead for her.
Wishing you and your family peace at this time. Remember the good not the bad, that is how we keep those who have moved on with us forever.

Dana and Jana, I am very sorry to hear of your loss. It has been so many years since I have seen any of you but I still remember our fun times as kids. Especially with you Dana and our fun nights of lip sinking after the restraunt would close and stuff our mouths so full of bubble tape gum. Your mom warned us not to but we didn't listen. It can be so easy to move on in life and lose touch but in the end, we are still family and I hold a special place in my heart for all of you. God bless you...

I cherish the times we were together and wish there had been more. Vineta has been a friend since junior high school and our lives criss-crossed many times in the years since. She had a beautiful soul and spirit. I will miss you dear friend and our hat visit days. Sing me a song from heaven sweetie.....

Vineta was born January 3, 1954 in Sullivan, Indiana, the daughter of Vincent and Joy (Wilkins) Brock. She married Jim Springer and they had two daughters who are left to cherish her memory, Jana Fisher and boyfriend Brian Zegarski of Troy, Missouri and Dana Kwarteng and husband Kenneth of Panama City, Florida. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Logan and Kendall Fisher and Justin Kwarteng; a brother, Gary (Jana) Brock of Texas, two nieces, Candi (Ed) Avila and Sarah Brock; and her stepfather, Charles L. Hayes of Charleston. She was preceded by her father, Vincent Brock and mother, Joy Hayes.
Vineta was a 1973 graduate of Charleston High School and a graduate of Eastern Illinois University. She was employed as an assistant to the Dean in the Records Office at EIU and also cooked and waitressed at the Ranch House Restaurant in Ashmore. She was previously a member of Women of the Moose Charleston Chapter #1175, Ladies of the Elks, Charleston VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society.
Vineta was always doing for others. She shared her culinary skills providing delicious meals or baked goods and her needlework abilities through comforting blankets crocheted with love. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing, and was overjoyed when given the opportunity to entertain the residents at Hilltop by singing with the Easters. She loved jazz music, classic country (especially Patsy Cline), 1920 vintage clothing such as flapper dresses and boas, and always a hat to accessorize. Vineta loved her family dearly and her daughters and grandchildren always came first. She will always be remembered for her unselfish attitude and her kindness and caring concern for others.
