CHARLESTON, IL – Jo Beth Stevens, age 51 of Charleston and formerly of Arizona, entered her Heavenly Home on Sunday, August 5, 2018 while at her residence.  In accordance with her wishes, her earthly body will be cremated and a Memorial Service honoring and celebrating her life will begin at 2:00 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston.  Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the Memorial Service.  It is requested that donations in her honor be made to her brother Keith Lawson to assist with family expenses, and may be left at the visitation/service or mailed in care of Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL 61920.

Jo Beth was born July 5, 1967 in Vincennes, Indiana, the daughter of the late James and Ruby Jo (Downen) Lawson.  She married Christopher Stevens and he survives.  Also surviving are her children, Jacob Grayling and girlfriend Lakota Fuller, Tristan Grayling, Chelsea Grayling and Ethan Grayling, all of Charleston; a granddaughter, Wren Grayling; her brother, Keith Lawson and wife Nannette of Chandler, Arizona; a nephew, James Lawson and wife Sicily; and a niece Katherine Lawson.

Jo Beth was a graduate of Corona Del Sol High School in Tempe, Arizona and received a Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University.  Her most recent employment was at Pinnacle Foods in Mattoon as a financial analyst.  Jo Beth was blessed with many good friendships but her greatest joys in life were the times spent with her family.  She was a devoted mother to her children and so enjoyed being a grandmother to Wren.  Fond memories are now cherished treasures in the hearts of those who knew and loved Jo Beth.
