Phyllis Yvonne Crawley, age 82, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 1 a.m. on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, IL. She was born August 7, 1936 in Marquette, MI, the daughter of Harry M. Somerville and Dorothy Rogers Somerville. On June 21, 1954 she married William C. Crawley in Strasburg, IL. He passed away on May 10, 2008.
Survivors include her son, Herbert Crawley of Martinsville, IL; daughters, Valla Taylor (Jim) of Martinsville, IL; Myra Hollingsworth of Yale, IL and Maria Washburn (David) of Palestine, IL; 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and great grandson, Austin Washburn.
Phyllis was a 1954 graduate of Paris High school. She worked for CBS in Terre Haute, IN; Charles Marine in Casey, IL and as a CNA at Casey Nursing Home. Phyllis enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
A graveside service and burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Ohio Cemetery, Melrose Twp., Clark County, IL with Brother Billie Ray Ulrey.
Memorial donations may be made to Clark County Animal Shelter, 15303 E. Anderson Rd., West Union, IL 62477.
