Your mother was truly a beautiful person inside and out. Her kind, gentle and caring personality made her a joy to be around. We hope that the knowledge of how lucky you were to have had her in your lives will be a comfort to you and help you through this difficult time.

So sorry to see you go, but I'll always have such fond memories of times we've spent together. Family time with everyone was something I looked forward to, the good cooking and music and sing-a-longs. Many years ago Helen held a special place in my Mom's heart and she and my Dad (Bernie and Mary Gabryluk) spent many happy nights polka dancing with George and Helen at the Edelweiss Haus. I'm sure that their reunion is a happy one and that the polkas are playing and
the beer is flowing.

Just read of your Mom's death. Your Mom was a special lady...we would sit at the A&R meetings and whisper silly stuff while Frances Mai would be running the meeting. Of course, I would get the evil eye and your Mom would just sit there and smile!!
Don't cry because she died, be happy that your Mom lived such a long life and that you were such an important part of that life.

Our beloved Mother Helen H. (Hock) Sodl, 97, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at her daughter Sandra’s home in Bethlehem where she resided. Helen was born in Palmerton on March 2, 1921 to the late Stephen and Roza (Unger) Hock. She was a loving wife of the late George S. Sodl with whom she shared 61 beautiful years of marriage. Though she was a homemaker, she also worked as a sewing machine operator in the local garment industry. Helen will be lovingly remembered by her son George Sodl (Pat), daughters Helen Trinkle (James), Sandra Meashock (Darryl), Anna Marie Van Arsdall, Patty Sinatore (Dino) and son Rudolph Sodl as well as 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She will also be truly missed by her sister Theresa Pastier as well as sisters-in-law Mary Hock and Catherine Hock. She was predeceased by a son Richard, daughter Mary Ann Griffith, granddaughter Sherrie Sodl, grandson, Patrick Sinatore as well as son-in-law Mark Van Arsdall. She now joins her siblings Rose Horvath, Stephen Hock, Anna Asbath, Mary Toth, John Hock, Frank Hock and Emma Toth in Heaven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 24th at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation BVM, 122 Union St., Catasauqua. Family and friends may call Thursday Evening August 23rd from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:15 – 10:15 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton.In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the church or charity of one’s choice.
