Rest in Peace Tony. He was my first cousin but I had not seen him in years. Aunt Judy and Uncle Bill I am sorry for your loss and know it will hurt for a long time.

Anthony's Obituary

SPRINGFIELD, IL – Anthony “Tony” B. Meyer, age 49 of Springfield, Illinois, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2018 at his residence.  The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 320 N. 21st Street in Mattoon, Illinois with Father John Titus officiating.  Inurnment will follow in Janesville Cemetery located on the Burma Road northwest of Janesville, Illinois.  It is requested that donations in his honor be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Gifts may be left at the Mass or mailed in care of Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL 61920.

Tony was born November 15, 1968 in Effingham, Illinois, a son of Bill and Judy (Heuerman) Meyer.  He grew up in Teutopolis, Illinois and received his Bachelors of Science degree from Eastern Illinois University.  He worked for Franklin Life and later went to work for the State of Illinois Board of Education.  He loved spending time with his children, was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears, and also enjoyed golfing and woodworking.

Left to treasure many fond and loving memories are his parents, Bill and Judy Meyer of Charleston, Illinois; his three children, daughters Katie Meyer and Jennifer E. Juhl and husband Ryan, all of Springfield, Illinois, and son Matt Phillips of Mattoon, Illinois; a sister, Diane Meyer of Westchester, Illinois and a brother, Andy Meyer and wife Valerie of San Antonio, Texas; a niece, Lauren Meyer and nephews, Sam and Alex Meyer.
