I have wonderful memories with Sandy. We have been friends since grade school. My condolences to her children and her husband. I will pray Gods comfort for you all.

My prayers and thoughts are withyiy all at this difficult time. Sandy was a treasure and so good to me when I would watch you girls and John. Much love to the entire family. Kay Mills.

Sandra Sue (Sandy)'s Obituary

Sandra Sue “Sandy” Winnett, age 79, of Casey, IL passed away on Saturday evening, September 22, 2018 at her home.  She was born February 16, 1939 in Casey, IL, the daughter of Theodore Roosevelt “Ted” Anderson and Minnie Rosetta Robey Anderson.  On November 19, 1955 she married James Marshall “Jim” Winnett in Toledo, IL

Survivors include her husband of almost 63 years, Jim Winnett of Casey, IL; daughters, Kim Harlan (Charlie) of Mt. Vernon, IL; Tami Fritts (Kerry) of Greenup, IL and Kris Spraker (Butch) of Casey, IL; brother, Jack Anderson (Sandy) of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Tisha and John Fritts of Greenup, IL; Travis Spraker (Megan) of Casey, IL; Matthew Spraker (Julie) of Dyersburg, TN; great grandchildren, Kaiden Spraker, Rhett Spraker and Callie Spraker and many nephews and nieces.  She was preceded in death by her parents and son, John Fitzgerald Anderson Winnett.

Sandy was a 1957 graduate of Casey High School.  She worked for the City of Casey as the City Collector for over 12 years.  Previously she worked for the Casey Answering and Secretarial Service for 9 years.  Sandy was a faithful member of the Casey United Methodist Church; a member of the Casey Country Club and a lifetime member of the Cumberland Sportsman’s Club.  She enjoyed playing golf, wintering in Florida and dining out with family and friends.  She treasured the time she spent with her family and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. (noon) on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Fairchild officiating.  Burial will follow in Harmony Cemetery, north of Greenup, IL.  Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (noon) prior to the service at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.   

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. .
