Beth--I am so sorry to hear about your mother. When I was in Carbondale, I would often run into her at the Education Buildding. She would update me on you and your brothers as well as give me some motherly advice. She was a lovely person and she and your dad were wonderful role models for you all.
I am so sorry I will be unable to attend the service tomorrow as I will be teaching a class. Please know you all are in my thoughts and proayers.

John, I always enjoyed working with you and your mom at the summer lunch program. Your mom and I also spent time together attending "Yesterday's Kids." She was such a caring person and always so welcoming. She will be missed by so many people who's lives she touched by her presence. May she rest in peace! You are in my thoughts and prayers!

Elizabeth, John and Steve ~ your mom was one of the very best. I have sooo many wonderful childhood memories at your house. Thinking back - there must have been a dozen kids there at times - playing "circus" no doubt, while simultaneously playing that player piano! How - did - she - do - it?? Your mom was always calm and caring. I will always remember her with love. She was the best. We will all miss her.

Steve, John, and Beth,
So sorry for the loss of your mom. She was a beautiful, caring person and also a lot of fun, plus so intelligent. She was my mom's best friend, as you know, and my mom loved her so very much. They used to read all kinds of novels and got me even more involved in reading. They also loved to joke it up and have a good laugh about almost everything. She was so brave, facing this last round of illness with courage and strength. I'll never forget her. Please accept my...
