I'm so sorry to hear of Mrs. Allison's passing. She taught me in the 4th grade at Cumberland. I will NEVER forget which way is north, east, south, and west because of her. She also taught my daughter. She will be greatly missed.

CHARLESTON, IL – Janeice Grafton Henderson Allison, age 80 of Charleston, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 23, 2018 in the comfort of her home and with loved ones present. A private family graveside service and inurnment at the Janesville Cemetery will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers or food, please make donations to Lincolnland Hospice. Donations may be mailed in care of Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Dr., Charleston, IL 61920.
Janeice was born September 24, 1937 in Lerna, Illinois, a daughter of Garnet and Daisy Belle (Gordon) Grafton. She is survived by three children, Gary (Susan) Henderson of Pharr, Texas, Mick (Claire) Henderson of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Jodi (Tim) Maloy of Charleston; and daughter-in-law, Lori Henderson. A son, Gordon Henderson and sister, Nancy Daily preceded her in death.
Janeice was a graduate of Charleston Eastern State High School and received her bachelors and masters degrees from Eastern Illinois University. She taught school in the Cumberland County School District from 1966 to 2003 and continued as a teacher’s aide for another eight years. She touched the lives of countless students as a fourth grade math teacher for most of those years. She will always be loved by a large family comprised of her children, eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She loved her extended family as well, especially nephews Paul and Mark Daily and their families, and niece, Janilyn Daily. She was blessed with numerous wonderful friends through the years, none more special than her teacher friends from Cumberland.
To all of her caregivers; Glenda, Laura, Sue and Kim; dear friends, Rosalie Chancellor and Javetta Kemper; and hospice nurses – especially Kay, who helped her during her battle with lung cancer – thank you and love to all.
