Chuck, Beth and Kristi- So sorry for your loss, such a tough year. Wish I could be there. Such fond memories of Aunt Norma and our family get togethers. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Norma's Obituary

Norma Rice Rackley Machisen, age 85, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 9:08 a.m. in her home.

Norma was born on December 27, 1932 in Coulterville, IL, a daughter to Eugene F. and Mildred E. (Patton) Rice. In 1966, she married Nick Machisen in St. Louis, MO and he preceded her in death in April 1983. She had worked as a bus driver and tax accountant and had retired from Spartan Printing. She loved having lunch with her lady friends, working on crossword puzzles, reading and playing with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Chuck Rackley of Coulterville, IL; two daughters, Beth (Alan) Kane of Pinckneyville, IL and Kristi Rackley of St. Louis, MO; two stepsons, Terry (Barbara) Machisen of St. Louis, MO and Ronnie (Betty) Machisen of St. Louis, MO; three daughters-in-law, Debbie Rackley, Betty Rackley and Sharon Rackley; a brother, Dale (Donna) Rice of Willisville, IL; a sister, Sue Hermes of Sparta, IL; a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nick Machisen; three sons, Randy Rackley, Donald Rackley and Butch Rackley; a brother, Russell Rice; a brother-n-law, Harry Hermes; and a nephew, Mark Hermes.

A graveside memorial service will be held in Coulterville City Cemetery, Coulterville, IL on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Dale Rice and Wyatt Rackley officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to Grandcote Reformed Presbyterian Church, Coulterville, IL for the food pantry.
