Michelle Carolyn Spiller, 59, of DuQuoin, IL, was born February 14, 1959 in St. Louis, MO and passed away September 27, 2018 in St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, MO.
She was the daughter of David Felix and Frances W. (Lanum) Spiller, Sr. who both preceded her in death. Her brother, Houston “Boo” Spiller also preceded her in death. She is survived by her sisters, Davene Reynolds of St. Louis, MO and Antoinette “Annie” Spiller of DuQuoin, IL; and brothers, David Spiller, Jr. and wife Tina of DuQuoin, IL and Anthony Spiller, Sr. of DuQuoin, IL. She was loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Michelle loved the Lord and enjoyed attending church. She was a member of Smith Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, DuQuoin, IL, where she was baptized in her youth. She also attended Precious Word Church, St. Louis, MO. Michelle was a shining light to everyone she met and loved. Her warm, kind and spirited personality was reflected in every aspect of her life. Her passions included a lifelong love of Michael Jackson and his music, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, playing seek and find games, spending time with family and friends, her love of food, especially spaghetti, and wearing her favorite color, purple. Michelle graduated from Hubert Wheeler School, St. Louis, MO and attended Five Star Industries, DuQuoin, IL. She was a member of the National Association for Down Syndrome.
Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Craig E. Tiller officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, DuQuoin, IL.
Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the National Association for Down Syndrome.
