Maureen and I went to St Francis together. She was always friendly and upbeat, so kind. I spoke with her occasionally when we had our reunions. She was still outgoing, funny and concerned about others. My sympathy to your family, a very tragic loss. Im sorry.

Dear Ankenbrand Family---The picture says is all!! Your "Sweet Mo" was indeed that. She was always such a warm and friendly person and teacher...with just the right amount of wit and sarcasm. Between, CHS, EIU, St. Charles, and of course, our beloved Heritage Woods, there are so many reasons to cherish memories of Charleston and Mrs. Ankenbrand. Sending thoughts of peace as you mourn her passing, but hold her close always.

So sorry to hear about Maureen's passing. We were EIU classmates in the early 60's. Maureen and I were both business education majors and had many classes together on the third floor of Old Main. Years later she became a wonderful mentor for my daughter Marcy Satterwhite who started her teaching career in the Business Department at Charleston High School.

Ank, so sorry to learn about Maureens passing. Ill always remember being Delta Zeta pledge sisters, having business classes together, and playing bridge with her - a fun loving lady - one of the best. In time I hope your loving memories of her will ease your sorrow.
