Elinor "Nadine"'s Obituary

Elinor “Nadine” Gielow, age 83, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 6:05 a.m. in Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pinckneyville, IL.Nadine was born on August 12, 1935 in DuQuoin, IL, a daughter to James Craig and Edna Clementine (Glenn) Stanton. In her younger years, she worked as a waitress at Rosie’s Café, Pinckneyville, IL where she met the love of her life, Eugene Erwin Gielow. On October 27, 1956, she married Eugene in Trinity Lutheran Church, Conant, IL and together they celebrated 60 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on March 28, 2017. She had later worked as seamstress for over 30 years at the Garment Factory, Pinckneyville, IL and Bridal Originals, Sparta, IL. She was a gifted seamstress who made all of the clothes she and her children wore. Nadine was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Pinckneyville, IL. Her hobbies included quilting, painting and other crafts. She was a member of the Pinckneyville Senior Citizens Club and enjoyed socializing. Nadine was an avid yard sale shopper, always looking for a good bargin. She dearly loved her grandchildren and spending time with them.

Survivors include three daughters, Jeannie (Jimmy Bill) Gladson of Pinckneyville, IL, Elaine (Scott) Hoague of Herrin, IL and Lori (Tom) Sample of Cape Girardeau, MO; one sister, Virginia Cunningham of Tilden, IL; two grandsons, Fletcher Hoague of St. Louis, MO and Blake Sample of Cape Girardeau, MO; a cousin, Linda Brune of Nashville, IL; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene Gielow; two brothers, Jimmy Duane Stanton and Bobbie Glenn Stanton; and one grandson, Ryan Eugene Erwin.

Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Conant, IL on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend David Kollmeyerofficiating. Interment will in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Conant, IL.

Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday morning at TrinityLutheran Church, Conant, IL from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
