Rhondal Lee's Obituary

Rhondal Lee Rue, age 77, of Murray, KY formerly of Casey, IL passed away at 1:25 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at his home in Kentucky.  He was born October 19, 1941 in Casey, IL, the son of Alonzo Ross “Buck” Rue and Alice Marie Ripple Rue.  On September 16, 1961 he married Sharon Lynne Tedrick in Casey, IL.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Sharon of Murray, KY; son, Adam Lee (Teresa) Rue of Chicago, IL; daughter, Tatia Lyn Beckwith of Culver City, CA; grandchildren, Jordan Beckwith of Culver City, CA and Mia, Emily and Henry Rue of Chicago, IL; siblings, Ben Rue of Lawrenceville, IL; John (Nancy) Rue of Peotone, IL; Richard (Kathy) Rue of Houston, TX; Jack Rue of Mattoon, IL; Bonnie (Don) Baird of Martinsville, IL; Julie (Chuck) Briggs of Tilton, IL and Melanie (David) Evans of Weatherford, TX; sisters in law, Marsha Rue of Casey, IL, and Nancy Cummins of Plainfield, IL; many nephews, nieces, great nephews, nieces, great- great nephews and nieces, his Church family and many friends. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert Rue, Tony Rue, Rodney Rue and wife Debbie Eagan Rue; sisters, Andrea Rue and Mary Sue Watson and husband Richard; brothers in law, Lynn Cummins and Jim Tedrick; father and mother in law, Jim and Tibby Tedrick and three nephews, Jonathan Rue, Jason Watson and David Watson.

Ron was a 1959 graduate of Casey High School after which he attended the University of Illinois.  He served his country during the Vietnam War, as a Staff Sergeant in the US Air Force.  He was a member of Casey First Christian Church and First Christian Church of Murray, KY.  Ron was retired from Eli Lilly and Caterpillar Tractor Company.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the Casey First Christian Church with Rev. Dr. Ruth Ragovin and Rev. Jacqueline Morgan officiating.  Burial will follow in Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL with graveside military rites by Casey VFW, Hazel Dell American Legion and Martinsville American Legion. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Friday evening at Casey First Christian Church, 200 SE Eighth St. Casey, IL.
