Lucile Elizabeth (Lee) Todd, age 97, of Casey, IL passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018, in St. Anthony Memorial Hospital, Effingham, IL. She was born January 31, 1921, in Crary, ND, the daughter of James A. Lee and Mary Wood Lee. On June 2, 1946, she married F. Merle Todd in Casey, IL. He passed away on June 28, 1998.
Survivors include her children, Scott Louis Todd (Marcia) of Charleston, IL; Gordon Lynn Todd (Mary Kay) of Enumclaw, WA; Barbara Lee Konrad (Kurt) of Shumway, IL and Nancy Lu Totten (Bill) of Effingham, IL; brother, James D. Lee (Betty) of Casey, IL; sister, Leona Lee of East Windsor, NJ; sister-in-law, Doris Lee of Casey, IL; brother-in-law Charles Swinford of Hillsboro, NC; grandchildren, Andrea (Brian) Madlem, Brian (Heather) Todd, Cara Todd, Christopher (Brittany) Todd, John Todd, Aaron Todd, Kimberly (Byron) McMullen, Jameson Konrad, Kelsey Konrad, Maxwell (Emily) Konrad, Madeline Totten, and Felicia Totten; great grandchildren Dalton Todd, Martha Todd, Dylan Todd, Cody Madlem, Wyatt Madlem, Elliot Todd, Lincoln Todd, Emmett Todd, Calvin McMullen, Leo Konrad, Kenzlee Konrad, and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Ralph Lee; sisters, Lois Sherwood, Marge Lawless, Helen Swinford, Ruth Myra Lee; brother-in-law, Dr. Harold Lawless and granddaughter, Amy Todd.
Lucile was a graduate of Eastern Illinois University and retired after 31½ years as an elementary school teacher. Lucile was an active member of Casey First Christian Church and a member of the Clark County Retired Teachers Association.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Markwell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL 62420.
Memorial donations may be made to Casey Township Library, 307 E. Main St., Casey, IL 62420 where Lucile worked as a librarian for many years.
