I got to work with Betty and enjoyed every minute of it. She was a great Lady that I looked up to. She will be forever in our hearts.

Betty Rees, age 85, of Collinsville, IL, formerly of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 4:30 p.m. in Randolph County Care Center, Sparta, IL.
Betty was born on February 16, 1933 in Swanwick, IL, a daughter to John and Lenora (Harrell) Rednour. She was married to Ewart Malott and to this union was born two sons, Rick and Raymond. Later she married Bernard Rees and to this union was born a daughter, Debbie and a son, John. She had worked as a cook at several local restaurants and had also owned the 313 Tavern, Pinckneyville, IL. Betty was an excellent pie baker and always loved baking them.
Survivors include three children, Rick Malott of Coulterville, IL, Debbie (Jim) Brandon of Collinsville, IL and John (Carla) Rees of Coulterville, IL; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Raymond Malott; and many siblings.
A private family service is planned for a later date.
