So sorry to hear your Mom had passed away. I have fond memories of Aunt Betty and Uncle Bennett when I was growing up. Seeing them at reunions and other gatherings they could always put a smile on your face. Please know we are keeping you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

Betty Jane Cross, age 88, of Westfield, IL passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, IL. She was born April 27, 1930 in Ashmore, IL, the daughter of William Allen Shoot and Minnie Jane Jackson Shoot. On August 16, 1948 she married William Bennett Cross in Westfield, IL. They shared 57 years of marriage before he passed away on June 3, 2005.
Betty was a loving mother to her children, Danny Cross (Lynn) of Casey, IL; Bill Cross (Retha) of Martinsville, IL and Beverly Wright of Westfield, IL. She was a proud grandmother of Holly Davenport (Chris), Cody Cross (Jenny), Jeff Cross (Carrie) and Stacy Herrington (Matt) and great grandchildren, Zander Davenport, Easton Cross, Lydia Cross, Katelyn Herrington and Dylan Herrington. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bennett Cross; granddaughter, Heather Cross-Bradshaw and fourteen brothers and sisters.
Betty was a member of the Westfield United Methodist Church. She enjoyed working in her flowers, sitting on her front porch, watching the birds and drinking iced tea. Most of all Betty treasured the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Markwell Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Emrich officiating. Burial will follow in Richwoods Cemetery, Westfield, IL. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service on Wednesday morning at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
