Lillian was born August 3, 1918 in Charleston, the second of eight children born to the late Charles Augustus and Gertrude Mae (Courtney) Lloyd.  She married Dennis L. Grant on April 11, 1937 and they shared nearly 67 years of marriage prior to his death on March 7, 2004.  Left to cherish her memory is a son, Dennis M. Grant and wife Nancy, and a grandson, Jason Grant, all of Charleston; and several nieces and nephews and their families.  Also preceding her in death were her brothers, Carlos, Earl, and Francis Eugene Lloyd and her sisters, Alta Kline, Lola Clark, Ellen Starwalt and Martha Adair.

Lillian was a member of First Christian Church in Charleston.  She was employed at the Brown Shoe Factory and following her marriage to Dennis found great joy and satisfaction in her life job of creating a warm and loving home and caring for her family. She was especially fond of spending time with her grandson, Jason.  Lillian was dearly loved by a family who will cherish their many loving memories of her.
