Janet Kay Miller, age 75, of DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 12:48 p.m. in her home.
Kay was born on August 15, 1943 in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter to Luther and Pearl (Rigdon) Armstrong. She was originally married to Russell Stretch and he preceded her in death. She later married Terry Miller and that marriage ended prior to her death and he survives. Kay had worked for several correctional facilities within the Illinois Department of Corrections in clerical and administrative offices and had retired from Big Muddy. She was a member of the Assemblies of God Church. Kay enjoyed reading, collecting angel figurines, shopping and spending time with her grandkids. She loved being on the go and talking with friends and family. She had a big heart and loved to give.
Survivors include one son, Randy (Brenda) Stretch of Springfield, IL; one daughter, Debbie (Ed) Warfield of Kansas City, MO; one brother, William (Lindy) Armstrong of DuQuoin, IL; one sister, Barbara (Stanley) Valier of DuQuoin, IL; ten grandchildren, Amanda, Jonah, Hannah, Samuel, Evan, Daniel, Jonathan, Josiah, Stephanie and Jaron; four great-grandchildren, James, Roman, Rowen and Eli; and one brother-in-law, Mervin Schwartzkopf of Nashville, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Delores Schwartzkopf; and one great-grandchild, Marshall Reid.
Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. with Reverend Paul Ritter officiating. Interment will be at Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
