Juanita Waineright

Juanita Waineright, age 93, of DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2018 at her goddaughter’s home in DuQuoin, IL.

Juanita was born on February 27, 1919 in DuQuoin, IL, a daughter to Otis and Elizabeth (Boyce) Lucas. On August 28, 1948, she married Joseph Waineright and he preceded her in death on February 28, 1983. Juanita was a member of the Tru Vine Missionary Baptist Church, DuQuoin, IL and worked as a nurse for Elgin State Hospital, Elgin, IL, retiring after 34 ½ years. She loved her animals and cats and donated to numerous charities.

 Juanita is survived by her niece, Dina D. Walton; a goddaughter, Lindell Slaughter of DuQuoin, IL; and many dear cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Betty Lee Lucas and Mattie Mae Crittendon; one brother, Odell Lucas; and  William Edward Walton who was raised as her brother.

Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Freddie A. Banks officiating. Interment will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, DuQuoin, IL.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
