Mom, you were my mother first, then my friend! You've taught all 3 of us kids how to roll with the changes of life AND how to APPRECIATE life! Thx for ALL of your LOVE & GUIDANCE! You've also taught us how to move forward! This is the ABSOLUTE HARDEST moving forward job I've EVER been faced with! But FOR YOU MOTHER, I WILL SUCCEED! I WILL HONOR YOU! I WILL HONOR YOUR MEMORY! ALWAYS & FOREVER! THANKS MOM FOR EVERYTHING! I LOVE YOU FOREVER! I'LL MISS YOU! EVERYDAY THAT WERE APART! CHIN UP...

You were our rock, our matriarch, our friend! I don't know what's gonna happen in the future but we will all try to keep the love and traditions going! You were (are) the greatest person in the world. We will always miss you and love you. You were a light to so many people and accepted others into our lives with no hesitation. Thank you for being the wonderful woman you were!

Love and hugs to all of Jeanie's family. I know how fiercely she loved each of you. And, oh my goodness, did she ever make all of us feel loved. She was a beautiful, caring person through and through. Oh that smile and twinkle in her eyes that she had for everyone ! She will be missed.

Aunt Jeannie I am going to miss you sooo much. You were always so high in spirits when we had chemo on the same day. I love you and look forward to family get togethers . Til we see each other again.

Jeanie's Obituary

Dolores Jean Meyer, age 71, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at 7:11 p.m. at Memorial Hospital East, Shiloh, IL.

Jeanie was born on July 31, 1947 in Schuline, IL, the daughter of Elmer and Gloria (Gillison) Bodeker. She had worked as a union coal miner for Peabody Coal Co and later worked as a presser for Bridal Originals for 18 years until it closed. She was of the Baptist faith, a former member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Sparta Eagles. Jeanie loved her dogs and being in the outdoors, especially mowing her grass. She was the matriarch of her family and loved them all dearly.

Survivors include her two daughters, Ricci (David) Leggans of Tilden, IL and Donna Leeper (fiancé, Bob Smith) of Coulterville, IL; a son, Jake (Tracey) Malott of Belleville, IL; a brother, Don (Carol) Bodeker of Sparta, IL; eight grandchildren, Jason (Shaunda) Leeper, Dustin (Jenny) Stanley, Jordan Leggans, Treasure Leggans (fiancé, Jacob Musielak), C.J. Leeper (fiancé, Lindsey Kempfer), Christopher Yearian (fiancé, Crystal Robertson), Jonathan (Rachel) Yearian and Credence Malott; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her spouses.

Jeanie’s wishes were to be cremated and a private family service is being held at a later date.

Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL has been entrusted with arrangements.
