Naomi was born August 19, 1930 in Ashmore, Illinois, the daughter of Dale and Thelma (Toops) Keigley.  She married Carl “Speed” Butler November of 1947 and they shared 47 years of marriage prior to his death in 1994.  As the matriarch of a wonderful and loving family she leaves a daughter, Christie Jones and husband Wes of Charleston; a daughter-in-law, Jeanette Butler of Charleston; two grandchildren, Sean Holladay and wife Mindy of Charleston and Joshua Jones of Nashville, Tennessee; and a great-granddaughter, Taylor Holladay Belvin (Dillion).  She is also survived by three sisters, Kathleen Kerns of Mattoon, Carolyn Brown and husband Don of Terre Haute, Indiana, Sharon Kellner of Charleston; along with several nieces and nephews.  She was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Butler; a brother, Fred Keigley and a sister, Jane Potter.

Naomi was a 34 year employee of General Electric in Mattoon.  She was an independent and strong woman who possessed a compassionate and caring heart.  She was a financial proponent of numerous worthwhile charities and helped numerous individuals, possibly even saving lives, as a blood donor.  Naomi was a HUGE fan of the Pittsburg Pirates and many years traveled with grandson Sean to Three Rivers Stadium (now PNC Park) to root on her Pirates as they played Sean’s favored Philadelphia Phillies.  During college basketball season she was in front of her television cheering for the University of Illinois Fighting Illini. Naomi also enjoyed reading and was known to have a green thumb resulting in many beautiful flower gardens.  Her daily walks often measured 3 to 5 miles and shorter walks were reserved for her Scotties.

Naomi loved her family dearly and was always available to offer her assistance and support.  She will be forever remembered with love and grateful devotion.
