Lois Ellen (Cooley) Neibarger, age 87, of Martinsville, IL passed away peacefully at 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at her home. She was born July 16, 1931in Clark County, IL, the daughter of Samuel Sylvester Cooley and Ada Marie Estes Cooley. On April 22, 1949 she married Doyle Dewese Neibarger in Morgansfield, KY. They shared 59 years of marriage before his passing on July 30, 2008.
Survivors include her son, Doyle Eugene Neibarger, Martinsville, IL; daughters, Pamela K. Masuga (George) of Tuscola, IL; Nancy Ellen Neibarger of Roseville, CA; Cheryl Lynn Neibarger of Martinsville, IL; brother, Larry Cooley of Wheatland, IN; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Her parents, daughter, Lesa Annette Neibarger; son, Dale Neibarger; brothers, Tom, Bill, Leo, Kenny, Charles and Ronnie Cooley; sisters, Merle Golden, Rosie Fusion and Phyllis Wilson; grandchildren, April Dawn Neibarger and Brady Huffman and infant children, Phillip Neibarger, Linda Mae Neibarger and D.D. Neibarger preceded her in death.
Lois was a homemaker and a teacher in her younger years. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Martinsville where she served as the Church Reporter, Sunday school teacher and volunteered in the nursery. Lois was a member of the VFW Auxillary and Red Hat Society. She was well known for her delicious homemade bread and noodles. She adored the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Martinsville with Rev. Gene Southard officiating. Burial will be in the Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday prior to the service at First Baptist Church of Martinsville, 5 Trotter Lane, Martinsville, IL.
Memorial donations may be made to Special Olympics, 605 E. Willow Street, Normal, IL 61761.
