David Henry Puetz, age 74, of Casey, IL passed away at 10:22 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019 in Casey, IL. He was born September 3, 1944 in Paris, IL the son of Henry Anton “Hank” Puetz and Mary Marguerite Cown Puetz. On May 23, 1981 he married Linda Lou Black in Casey, IL. She passed away on October 19, 1986. On June 29, 1991 he married Kathleen Kemper in Cumberland County, IL.
Survivors include his wife of over 27 years Kathy Puetz of Casey, IL; brother, Russell A. Puetz (Marge) of Arlington Heights, IL; daughters, Tina Miller (Josh) of Decatur, IL and April Dryden (Mark Pierson) of Casey, IL; nephew, Matthew Puetz of CA; grandchildren, Rebecca, Jacob and Rachel VanMeter of Decatur, IL; his Church family and many wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife.
David was a 1962 graduate of Casey High School. He was an automobile mechanic and owner of the Downtown Garage in Casey, IL; a business he worked beside his dad in for over 40 years. He served his country in the US Army from 1962 – 1965 and was a member of the Casey VFW. David was a dedicated member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Casey. He was a member of Friends of NRA; Quail Unlimited and CIGTP (Central Illinois Garden Tractor Pullers).
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with the Father Augustine Koomson officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, IL with graveside military rites by Casey VFW and Martinsville American Legion. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday evening at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church or American Heart Association.
