Not sure what to say?

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.bI

Mrs. Wall was one of the most gracious and lovely ladies I've ever met. I loved talking to her when she came to Athens. What a precious jewel !!! My love and prayers go out to her family and friends. Love, Vanda

Staci, I read her obituary and I wish I could have met your grandparents. I know you are so amazing in part because of them. They remind me so much of Franks grandparents also which makes me wish I could have met them. I know she and your grandfather are so proud of the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren they helped make. Prayers and wonderful memories to all your sweet family. I love you all!!!! Cindy

Mike and family- what a wonderful lady! She always had a friendly smile and always spoke to me when I saw her. Yard sales will not be the same. You are in my thoughts and prayers!

Our last photo together. New Years Eve in Athens, Georgia.

I love you, Mom. I miss you so much more than I ever could have feared that I would. Please continue to watch over us all with your Great Love and Care, forever.

N. Jeanne's Obituary

Jeanne was born June 26, 1927 in Charleston, Illinois, a daughter of the late George and Doris (Warren) Metzler.  She married David Wall on March 31, 1944 in Greenville, Illinois and they were blessed with 74 amazing years together prior to his death on July 1, 2018.  Left to honor her memory are six loving and devoted children, Joseph D. Wall of Charleston, Stephen E. Wall and wife Norma of Downers Grove, Illinois; Daniel R. Wall and wife Christina of Athens, Georgia, Michael W. Wall and wife Diane and Patrick A. Wall and wife Anna, also of Charleston, and Deborah Wall, also of Athens; six grandchildren, Gregory Wall, Shanna Wall (Jennie Travieso-Wall), Staci Cox (Brandon), Melissa Wall, Brian Wall (Ricky) and Bethany Lacy (Daniel); and 5 (soon to be 6) great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Grace Metzler; a brother, Kenneth Metzler and half brother, Wayne Metzler.

When living in Glen Carbon, Illinois, Jeanne was employed with the Madison Economic Opportunity Commission managing their Treasure Houses.  She was a member of Praise Assembly Church located west of Charleston, and when the drive became too much, began attending Providence Separate Baptist Church located closer to her home east of Charleston.  Primarily, Jeanne enjoyed her role as a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.  She was devoted to making certain that her family was well cared for.  She served as a den mother for her boy’s Cub Scout Pack and was a Girl Scout leader as well.  Her children always knew the support of a loving and devoted mother.  Jeanne was not afraid of a hard day’s work as she would tend her large vegetable garden and can its’ often bountiful harvest to feed her family.  Her kind and caring concern for others also resulted in sharing her garden products with neighbors, friends and other community residents.  Jeanne and David had a common love for yard and rummage sales, searching for their next bargain purchase, and spoiling their canine pets.  Jeanne was the matriarch of a loving and devoted family who will treasure their many memories of a wonderful woman they knew as mother, grandma and great-grandma.
