David Lowell McClellan, age 63, of Paris, IL formerly of Marshall and Martinsville, IL passed away at 2:45 a.m. on Friday, March 22, 2019 at Twin Lakes Rehab and Health Care Center, Paris, IL. He was born June 28, 1955 in Terre Haute, IN, the son of Franklin Dale “Ghandi” McClellan and Betty Jean Hartman McClellan.
Survivors include his brother, Michael B. McClellan, Sr. of Savoy, IL; sister in law, Robin Davidson McClellan of Terre Haute, IN; nephew, Michael Blane McClellan, Jr. (Kuai) of Champaign, IL; nieces, Bethany McClellan Kusterman (Kyle) of Casey, IL; Katherine McClellan Hanner (Jonathan) of Charleston, IL; Bronwyn McClellan Cain (Zachary) of Savoy, IL and Bailey McClellan of Bloomington, IL; great nephews and nieces, Bay Kusterman, Sunny Kusterman, Braxton Hanner, Kase Hanner, Cashel Cain, Cece Cain, Callum Cain and Cosimo McClellan. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Marc Alan McClellan and niece, Kimberly Jo McClellan.
David was a graduate of Martinsville High School, Parkland College (where he played basketball) and Eastern Illinois University. He briefly served his country in the US Navy. David assisted his father for many years and most recently worked at Walmart in Marshall, IL. He was an accomplished pool player and enjoyed spending time umpiring and refereeing local ball games. He loved to sing and sang in many Church choirs in the area. David was a member of the Marshall First United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Greenwell Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be held from 12 (noon) – 1 p.m. prior to the service on Tuesday at Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N. Washington St., Martinsville, IL.
Memorial donations may be made to Martinsville American Legion Post 515, PO Box 273, Martinsville, IL 62442.
