We were friends in high school and college, and we enjoyed football and basketball games and dancing at clubs. He married our niece, and they raised three wonderful children. Life brought changes with more children and grandchildren. We will remember the good times. We offer our condolences to his family and extended family on their loss.

Donald L. Chandler, age 84, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 8:00 a.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL.
Don was born on October 20, 1934 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son of Valley E. and Mildred Mary (Kelly) Chandler. He married Phyllis Peters in 1959 and later married Patricia Van Brooker in 1975. Don had proudly served in the United States Army. He was owner and operator of Chandlers Mobile Service Station and then retired from Consolidated Coal. Later in his life, he had enjoyed driving a school bus for several years. Don was a member of U.M.W.A., Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post #2504, Lions Club and PCHS Athletics Booster Club and Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL. Don was an avid and accomplished bowler, a huge Pinckneyville Panther fan and enjoyed working with the ‘Chain Gang’. He loved being outdoors, hunting and fishing, and also enjoyed his weekly poker game with his friends for over 40 years.
Survivors include four sons, Brian (Martha) Chandler of Pinckneyville, IL, Daron (Tricia) Chandler of Pinckneyville, IL, Justin Chandler of Pinckneyville, IL and Christopher (Doris) Chandler of Pinckneyville, IL; one daughter, Cynthia (Rick) Luke of Houston, TX; one sister, Virginia (Carl) Peradotta of Pinckneyville, IL; thirteen grandchildren, Richard Naumer, Katherine Naumer, Jonathon Luke, Joshua (Megan) Chandler, Wesley Chandler, Valley Chandler, Landon Chandler, Miles Chandler, Maci Chandler, Preston Chandler, Wyatt Chandler, Isabella Chandler and Nicole Martinez; three great-grandchildren, Alayna Justynski, Selah Chandler and Izabel Chandler; one niece, Reita Doering; and one nephew, Sam Peradotta.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday, April 5, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post #2504.
Visitation will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Oak Grove Cemetery or PCHS Athletics Booster Club.
