She was like a mother to me and I will always have a everlasting place in my heart for her. I will never be able to thank her enough for everything she has done for me, my family, and even my friends. I wouldn't be there person I am today if not get her. She will always be missed and never forgotten. RiP.

CHARLESTON, IL – Mary Evelyn Hudson, age 86 of Charleston, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 while at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. There will be no public visitation or services and a private family gathering to honor and celebrate her life will be held at a later date. Her cremated remains will be inurned in the Mercer family section in Grandview Cemetery in Edgar County, Illinois.
Mary was born April 10, 1933 in Edgar County, Illinois, to the late Dan and Irene (Mercer) Roberts. Surviving family are sons, Bryant and Bradley Hudson; a sister, Esther Reeley of Oregon; two brothers, Charles Roberts and wife Ethel of Mattoon, Illinois and Arthur Roberts and wife Carol of Diona, Illinois; Derek Ferguson with whom she treasured a mother-son relationship; along with numerous nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and James Roberts and a sister, Nancy Roberts.
Mary was a 1952 graduate of Kansas High School and was employed for many years as a CNA at the long-term care facility now known as Charleston Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Mary was an avid reader and treasured the many good times spent with her family.
