I first met Gordon while working on the Sea Launch project. After a couple years, I went on to another program and when I returned to Sea Launch 5 years later, Gordon had moved on to other programs as well. Even though we didn't work together after those few years on Sea Launch, I often met Gordon in the hallways and Gordon always made a point of greeting me and inquiring how I was doing. Always with a smile and great sense of humor. We found we had the Navy in common (both enlisted within a...

I will always remember his smile and the slap on the back. His conversations were always enlightening. I will remember those days with him on Sea Launch and P8 as fond memories. Thank you Gordo for being my friend.

I knew Gordon for a very short time while working on the Sea Launch Program at Boeing. However, we all loved his sense of humor. Thru all the challenges we faced he remained a consummate professional with a twinkle in his eyes just looking for the next chance at levity. We know he will be missed by all.
Our heartfelt condolences to his family.

Gordon was one of the most easy to get along co-workers on the program I worked with, before he retired. We enjoyed getting together in his new farm after retirement! I am so sorry to hear about the sad news - I was planning to catch up with Gordon and wife this summer (My lesson learned: NEVER put off!) May God give his family peace and comfort at this time!

Gordon...I want to thank you for your friendship and fellowship while you and I worked at the Boeing Company. The group that you and I were in together was the best group that I have worked in since I've been employed with the Boeing Company for 35 years. I enjoyed being around you everyday. Thank you for accepting me as I am. It has been said that there are two types of people. One that comes and goes and the one that leave a life time experience. You were that type of person that has left...

Gordon Lynn Todd, 68, of Enumclaw, WA, formerly of Casey, IL passed away April 25th, 2019. He was born in Terre Haute, IN on September 19th, 1950. Gordon grew up in Casey, IL, the son of a dairy farmer and a school teacher. He graduated from Seattle University and received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering. After two and a half years at Texas Instruments in Dallas, TX, he took a job with Boeing in Seattle, WA. Gordon worked as an engineer at Boeing in the aerospace division for 31 years.
Gordon enlisted in the Navy in December 1970. After "skating through bootcamp" as a member of the Drum and Bugle Corps, he was sent to the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA to become a French linguist. Seaman Todd's first duty site was with the Naval Security Group Activity, Ft Meade, MD, where mess cooking for six weeks prepared him for assignments at the National Security Agency for the next year. Next he was stationed at the Naval Communications Station in Rota, Spain for three years. Upon separation from active duty in May, 1976, PO Todd joined a reserve unit and served as a reservist for 26 years. CWO Todd retired in June, 2002.
Gordon married Mary Kay Hollinger on May 20th, 1977. Together, they had four children for whom he devoted many hours of coaching sports teams and being a scout leader. Gordon had a passion for his family and working outdoors on the "farm" in Enumclaw. After many years in the city, he was happy to return to his rural roots. The main reason they bought the house in the country was for the family to have fun. He was often found riding his tractor or playing with the four grandkids. Gordon loved connecting with old friends from Boeing and the Navy to tell tall tales, play golf, and catch up on the latest news.
Gordon is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Kay; his children, Christopher Todd (Brittany), John Todd, Aaron Todd, and Kimberly McMullen (Byron); his grandchildren, Elliot, Emmett, Lincoln, and Calvin; and his siblings, Scott Todd (Marcia), Barbara Konrad (Kurt), and Nancy Totten (Bill). He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Lucile Todd.
Contributions may be made in Gordon's honor to the family's team for the Purple Stride walk to support the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. (http://support.pancan.org/goto/team-gordon)
Donations may also be made in Gordon's name to the Casey VFW. (Post 5762, P.O. Box 276, Casey, IL. 62420)
Funeral services and burial will be conducted on May 3, 2019 in Federal Way, Washington.
May the wind be always at your back and the earth rise up to meet your feet. Fair winds and following seas, Gordy.
