Virginia D Thomas

Virginia D. Thomas, 87, died on November 9, 2018 at Villa Crest and Retirement Center after a period of declining health. Virginia was born in Landaff, NH on October 16, 1931. She was the youngest of seven daughters of Thomas & Alberta (Mayhew) Dion. She spent most of her childhood growing up in Lyman, NH.

Virginia had a passion for gardening, reading a good book, and going on antiquing trips with family and friends, but most of all her true love was being a loving wife and mother.

Virginia worked for Dr. Richard O’Neil as a dental assistant which she greatly enjoyed. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Manchester, where she was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts and on various committees.

Virginia was predeceased by her husband Theodore (Ted) M. Thomas in 2013. They shared 61 wonderful and loving years of marriage together. She was also predeceased by her sisters; Beatrice Philbrick, Florence Lovering, Olive Hughes, Alice Howard, Irene Corey and Georgienna Witcher.

She leaves two sons;  Theodore M. Thomas and his wife Celina, and David L. Thomas and his wife Linda, two grandchildren; Larry Casale and his wife Nicolle, and Melissa Biron and husband Jesse, two great grandchildren; McKenzie  and  Khloe Casale, three sisters –in-law; Marcia Walker, Linda Thomas and Winnie Thomas,  as well as many nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. A private family funeral will be held at a later date.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Virginia's name to the Visiting Nurse Association of Southern, NH, 1070 Holt Ave, Suite 1400, Manchester, NH 03109 and/or the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, PO Box 626, Concord, NH 03032.
