Paul was a hard worker and good friend. He will be sorely missed. His humor during hard work was enough to keep everyone plugging away. You always knew Paul's position on things; because he would let you know it in no certain terms. I imagine Paul is now correcting Heaven's message center. I would expect nothing less of him.

Paul R. Ault, age 72, of Hidalgo, IL and a winter resident of Bonita Springs, FL since 2011 died Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Joanne’s House at Hope Hospice after a courageous 5-year battle with cancer. Paul was born January 1, 1947 in Hazel Dell, IL a son of the late Herbert C. and Julia Marie (Wilson) Ault.

Paul received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, Springfield. He then worked for AT&T in their IT department for over 28 years. He spent time in their Lisle and Hinsdale offices and traveled internationally teaching their operating systems to employees overseas. After leaving AT&T in 1998, he joined IBM and worked with their IT support team and finished his career with Enterprise Rental Car Company also in their IT department.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sally A. Ault; one daughter, Lisa K. Whiting and her husband, David of Tallahassee, FL; three cherished grandchildren, Mason Whiting, Leah Whiting and Jack Whiting. Paul is also survived by his two sisters, Diane Hoene and her husband, Roger of Sigel, IL and Linda Wicke and her husband, Larry of Greenup, IL and his nieces and nephews, Herbert Norman Ault, Melissa Ault, Tony Ault and his wife, Tina, Ted Ault and his wife, April, Toby Ault and his wife, Brittany, Brandon Ault and his wife, Crystal, Ethan Wicke and his fiancé, Ashley, Ty Wicke and Joseph Kuhn and his wife, Emily.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Bryan E. Ault who died in 1999 and his brother, Herbert L. Ault.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2019 at Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Fairchild officiating.  Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. prior to the service on Friday at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.  Inurnment will be in the Hazel Dell South Cemetery, Hazel Dell, IL at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers memorials in his name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
