Lots of memories come up when I think of Connie. I grew up next to the Murphy's and recall how sweet she was. She loved to paint all of our fingernails as we sat on the concrete blocks in front of her house. We always looked up to Connie because she was older. What a beautiful soul she was. My heart goes out to her family at this time. Many prayers for all of you.

Connie Jean Wall, age 71, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 8:27 a.m. in Missouri Baptist Medical Center, St. Louis, MO. She was a saintly woman with a wicked left hand.
Connie was born on July 20, 1947 in Thompsonville, IL to Jesse and Marjorie (Malone) Murphy. She married Virgil “Phil” Wall, Jr. on October 22, 1965. She had worked as a caregiver at Gold Plate, DuQuoin, IL for at least 15 years and attended Mt. Vernon Church of God, Mt. Vernon, IL. Connie enjoyed word finds, puzzles, and reading but especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Virgil “Phil” Wall, Jr.; children, Tim (Joan) Wall, Brian Wall, Christina (Michael) Waligorski, and Dawn (Dan) Combs; siblings, Terry (Ruth) Murphy, Elaine (Ed) Davis, Steve (Lisa) Murphy, and Glenetta (Randy) Kirkpatrick; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Jesse Eugene Murphy, Jr., John Murphy, and David Murphy; and two grandchildren, Sidnee Stephens and Zach Jeremiah.
Funeral services will be held at Winkle Baptist Church, Winkle, IL on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Jeff Downard and Pastor Mike Campbell officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at Winkle Baptist Church, Winkle, IL on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
