Joyce was a sweet lady. I met her when she brought her dogs to the vet office. She was a great caretaker of Bob and know she is with her Lord and Savior and her beloved daughter, Connie. RIP dear lady

Obituary

J. Joyce 's Obituary

Juanita Joyce Jacobs, age 82, of Westfield, IL was welcomed into the arms of Jesus at 12:03 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at home in Westfield, IL after a short but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.  She was born March 15, 1937 in Chico, TX, the daughter of F.B. McCord and Addie Lee Edgemon McCord.  On February 2, 1952 she married Robert Leroy Jacobs in Wichita Falls, TX.

Survivors include her loving husband of 67 years, Bob Jacobs of Westfield, IL; son in law, Mark Cooper of Charleston, IL; brother, Jerry McCord (Jan) of Las Vegas, NV; her Church family, the Westfield community and many close and dear friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, F.B. McCord and Addie Lee McCord Holden; stepfather, Paul Holden; stepbrother, Eddie Holden; sisters, Linda Sue Hack and Ola Mae Cook and her daughter and the light of her life, Connie Cooper.

Joyce worked as a secretary for Sappington Insurance in Westfield, IL for over 40 years.  She served the Village of Westfield (a town she truly loved) as the town clerk for 40 years; the treasurer for 26 years and worked for the village water works for 39 years.  Joyce was a devoted and faithful member of Westfield Baptist Church, where she served as treasurer.  She worked as an EMT for Clark County for 16 years and was a member of the American Legion Auxillary, where she served as historian and treasurer.  She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapters in Westfield and Kansas.  Joyce was a loving wife and mother.  Bob always said “I never knew I could love a woman as much as I do Joyce”  “She always took good care of me.”

Graveside service and burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Maple Hill Cemetery, Westfield, IL with Rev. Gene Ellis officiating.
