Robert Leroy Jacobs

Robert Leroy Jacobs, age 89, of Westfield, IL was welcomed into the arms of Jesus at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at home in Westfield, IL.  He was born May 18, 1930 in Casey, IL, the son of Edward Jacobs and Della Edwards Jacobs.  On February 2, 1952 he married Juanita Joyce McCord in Wichita Falls, TX.  She passed away on June 22, 2019.

Survivors include his son in law, Mark Cooper and his family of Charleston, IL; brother in law, Jerry McCord (Jan) of Las Vegas, NV; his Church family, the Westfield community and many close and dear friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Joyce Jacobs; daughter, Connie Cooper; brother, Raymond Jacobs and sisters, Wilma Jacobs, Lenna Hopper and Wanda Watson.

Bob was a graduate of Casey High School.  He served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War.  Bob was a custodian for Ashmore School for 12 years and owned and operated a Marathon Gas Station in Westfield, IL for over 23 years.  Bob was a member of the Westfield Baptist Church where he served as trustee since 1985.  He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and was a 32nd degree Mason, with memberships in Westfield and Danville.  He worked as an EMT and driver for Clark County for over 18 years.  Bob was a loving and devoted husband and father.  

Graveside service and burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Maple Hill Cemetery, Westfield, IL with Rev. Gene Ellis officiating. Graveside military rites will be provided by Westfield American Legion and Kansas American Legion.  Prior to the service, a Masonic service will be conducted at 9:45 a.m. by the Westfield Masonic Lodge.
