Lula Belle “Lou” Holloway, age 84, of Marissa, IL, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 11:18 p.m. in Coulterville Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Coulterville, IL.
Lula was born on April 2, 1935 in Randolph County, IL, a daughter to Vernon and Florence (Nitzshe) Fulton. She married Richard T. "Muggs" Holloway on December 1, 1954 in Corinth, Mississippi and he survives. Lula had worked as a banker for Marissa and Coulterville banks. She was a long time member of the Methodist Church and Eastern Star, Amaryllis Chapter 750. Lula enjoyed sewing, reading, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Richard T. “Muggs” Holloway of Marissa, IL; one son, Mark William Holloway (Tracy Lugge) of Smithton, IL; two daughters, Jill Diane (Kim) Duffie and Cindy (Mark) Wallace of Marissa, IL; four grandchildren, Ashley(Aaron) Duffie-Willman, Danielle Wallace, Abbey Wallace and Brendan Wallace; two great-grandchildren, Tadley Duffie-Willman and Kinsley Duffie-Willman; sister-in-law, Peggy Fulton of Sparta, IL; and special friend Christine Tedrow.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers-in-law, Robert Fulton and Dale Fulton; and sister-in-law, June Fulton.
Funeral services will be at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Kimberly Allen officiating. Interment will be at Marissa Cemetery, Marissa, IL.
Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A Eastern Star service will be held at 10:45 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Tilden United Methodist Church, Tilden, IL.
