Not sure what to say?

I so enjoyed living next door to Ellen and Richard for many years. She was such a warm, friendly and caring neighbor. Always sharing a smile and a kind word to my children and I.
I will forever be reminded of her friendliness and compassion for others each time I pass by their home.
Our thoughts and prayers are with her family during this sad time. She was so proud of them, as she often spoke so highly of them all.

Ellen was working on her PHD when I was a student at EIU. There were lots of times when EIU chemistry students and faculty (and their families) got together and so, I got to know Ellen then. More recently, a highlight of going to ACS meetings was having a dinner with Ellen and Richard. They were such a happy, kind, supportive couple. I miss both of them and am very thankfull for their contributions to students.

Sending condolences from the Neely family in Nashville and Florida. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

My deepest sympathies to your family. Ellen was a dear, kind, and lovely woman whom I appreciated knowing through EIU and our Jazzercise class. I have always loved my conversations with Ellen and feel fortunate to have known such a remarkable woman.

This fall, my students and I hosted Ellen and other community members at our Walk, Talk, and Dine with a Panther special event at EIU. Ellen greatly enjoyed being back on campus with students and all of us were graced by her presence...

Ellen was a beautiful person and so kind to everyone.

We offer our sincere condolences to Dr. Ellen Keiter's family and know that she will be greatly missed. Eastern Illinois University was the better for her contributions as a scholar, professor and colleague and she will be missed.

Eric and Lise, we are so sorry we can't be with you to Celebrate the Life of your Mother. Your parents were dear friends of ours and we are heartbroken. Ellen was an amazing woman, as you know, but also such a warm, loving person. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life. Our sincere condolences to you and to her family.

Please accept our sincere sympathy. We will be unable to attend visitation due to doctor appointment at Carle clinic and most likely will not arrive back in Charleston until after visitation has ended. How blessed you were to have Ellen as your mother. Mine died 18 years ago this last Sunday and there is not a day that passes that I do not thank God for giving me into her care for my earthly walk.

Condolences to Ellens family. I experienced her support as a counselor at EIUs TRIO program which provides academic support for first time college enrollees, disable and also low income students. Ellen is a loss for all of us. RIP Ellen.
