I am so sorry for your loss. I have known Mike for about 18 years and he always make me smile. During the last few months we have been wishing each other a Good Morning and Sweet Dreams every morning and evening. I will miss my friend very much.

Michael E. Cassidy
Belvidere-Michael E. Cassidy, 71, passed away December 5, 2020 at Elderwood @ Burlington Nursing Home in Burlington. He was born April 24, 1949 in Barton, the son of Bernard Cassidy and Amie G. Rock.
While attending high school he played football. He was also a participant in the Young Marines program while in school. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict. He was immensely proud of being a Marine and was also a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mike had been employed as a truck driver for a number of years. He enjoyed his years working for both Rod & Son Heating Oil & Land Air Express as well as many other places. Mike enjoyed watching sports especially the New York Yankees, New York Giants or Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team.
He is survived by his daughters, Kristle Wert of Wichita KS, Kelly Cassidy of Belvidere and Karen Harvey (Todd) of Hyde Park. Grandchildren, Devin Wert, Mercedes Kelly, Kaitlyn Cassidy, Brooke & Cooper Harvey. Great granddaughter Jayda Kelly. Siblings Ken, Kevin, Clyde & Dena Cassidy. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister Kathy Richardson.
No public services are planned at this time.
