Wow. This hit me hard when I found out today. I have know todd for 30+ years. From the time I was in grade school and he was our bus driver. All the little girls would get so excited when he would drive up. He always wore those mirrored sunglasses and was just so cool. Since I have always thought of Todd as a brother. He and my brother were somewhat friends for years. He thought the world of my mom and those who respect my mother have my respect. Todd will be missed very much so. Harry, my heart goes out to you. Your family has been so much in the past couple years and you truely are in my prayers. We love you all...The Heglers.

I first met Todd Melton on a school bus during grade school. We eventually played football (or something like it) on the front lawns of what used to be Belmont Jr. High. Although it's been nearly 20 years since then, It's sad to hear that he has passed on before his time. I remember him as a very active high-spirited young man eager to take on the world. From the other entries in this guest book, I take it that he left us with the same fever for life. To those that knew him better than me, I'm sure he'll be missed and I express my condolences.

Harry and Family,
I was so very saddened to hear of Todd's passing. Although it has been many years since those days we spent together in the youth group at First Methodist Church and in high school I still have so many fond memeories of him and the laughter we so often shared. Over the years I ran into him now and again, and he never ceased to exude an unmistakable beauty that came from within.
Although no words can soften the blow of the loss of a loved one, just know that he is in a place of pure positive energy, full of love and peace...looking down on all of you that he cared for so much...smiling that incredible smile of his.

It seems like yesterday when we were out on the street in front of my house and Todd was showing me the "correct" way to ride a wheelie on his FJ1200, or crusing Franklin in that Toyota Truck that was 10 ft off the ground. Time does fly. To the family I am very very sorry for your loss.

Mr. Melton, Tammy & family,
I was so saddened to hear of the passing of Todd. I knew Todd about 10 years ago and spent some very memorable times with him. His laughter was contagious and his love of life was fulfilling for everyone around him.
I saw Todd some months ago and he told me how happy he was. How much he loved Tammy and how good she was to him. He had a contentment about him and felt so loved...you could hear it in his voice and see it in his face when he talked about her.
Todd was a one of a kind guy who would do anything for anyone and he always pushed me to do my best in everything. I will miss him....and know that the times I had with him will remain in my heart forever.
I remember when my son's father- David died at 37 about 5 years ago Todd called me. As I cried Todd told me that the gift of loving David and being loved by him was something that I would always feel in my heart. He said it was a gift and that I should hold close to it to get me thru the hard times...so I pass that to you now. Remember Todd's love of life and laughter to get you thru this hard time. Remember how he loved you.
I know that he is having a happy homecoming with his mother who he loved and missed so much.

I was so stunned when you called me and told me that Todd had passed away. I know that you guys were so very close even if I never got to meet him. Every time we spoke on the phone over the past year he was with you and you two were laughing. I am praying for you and your boys I know this is an extremely hard time for you. Our family was deeply saddened upon hearing of your famillies loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all as well as Todd. Todd embraced life as a whole, he never met a stranger, he loved his family and friends, and would give up the shirt on his back if he thought you needed it. I went to South Point with Todd. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. He was so full of great energy. He also reminded me alot of my own son who I lost to a motorcycle accident in Oct. of 06'. Emotional trauma drains people of their energy. But the Word says, “Be not grieved and depressed, for the joy of the Lord is your strength and stronghold” (Nehemiah 8:10). The devil wants to steal your joy because he knows that joy is your strength. He wants you to be weak so that you won’t resist the turmoil he sets against you. That is why sometimes we need each other.
Some days God will send messengers to build you up in faith and renew your joy. Some days He will send you to someone else who is in a weakened condition because Satan has been pounding on them. I want to be your friend today, and in the harder days to come. I am your friend when you may be in dire need of a friend to stand beside you and encourage you and to lift you up and pray for you.

Todd will be missed but not forgotten. Our times from Pre-school to Masonic Lodge to insurance / finance, he was a great person... My condolence to the family.

Melton Family, May Gods grace fill your heart in this time of loss. Todd was a great guy with lots of energy. He was a wonderful classmate. I always expected his "Hello McGarrett" and "book'em Dano" when he saw me in the halls. We have kept in touch over the years and he has always been caring. That was Todd.
