Charles Jones Obituary

JONES - Charles Edward Jones was born Oct. 28, 1945, to the late Marcia Ann Jones in Washington, Ga. He received his education in Miami, Fla., where he was loved by everyone who knew him. Charles was drafted in the U.S. Army at the age of 17. He served in the Vietnam War. After serving in the U.S. Army, he was employed with Rinker Materials for 37 years. After retirement, he made his home in Palm Bay, Fla.
On Monday, May 26, 2025, God called Charles home to be with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his mom, Marcia Ann Jones, and brother, Robert Jones.
Charles leaves to cherish his memories his daughters, Charmine Small (Arnold) and Cheryl Murphy (Eric), both of Kingsland, Ga.; grandchildren, Shanevia Jones, Da'Trayvus Campbell, Derrick Albertie Sr., Cherrell Taylor and Johnnie Taylor Jr.; great-grandchildren, Selena Jones, Cavus Albertie, Derrick Albertie Jr. and Makhi Albertie; sisters-in-law, Sandra Jones of Yulee, Fla., and Katie Fuller and Grenda Taylor (Mack), both of Kingsland, Ga.; brothers-in-law, Andrew Albertie and Malachi Albertie (Barbara), both of Kingsland, Ga., Curtis Albertie and Anthony Albertie (LeShawn), both of Jacksonville, Fla., and Bobby Albertie (Linda) of Lake City, Fla.; very special friend, Annie Smith and family; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2025, at St. James Baptist Church, 153057 County Road 108 in Yulee, Fla. A wake will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 6, at the church. Interment will be held in Elmore-Wilds Cemetery in Yulee (Sandhill Community), Fla.
Sunset Funeral Home is in charge of final arrangements.
