Lois Hargrove Obituary

Lois M. Hargrove, 85, of Lodi, CA, passed away January 6, 2011 surrounded by her family. She was born October 2, 1925 in Blue Rapids, KS and moved out to California when she was 14.
She is the loving mother of Frank Hargrove (Danette) of Lockeford, CA, Jean Kyner of Las Vegas, NV, and Gwen Rocha (Mike) of Fallon, NV; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She is sister to Ken Burton, Willie Burton, Margie Sears, Peggy Aldrin, Roger Burton, and Gloria Burton. Sister-in-law of Freda Schut, Pauline Garcia, Mary Ellen Zellmer; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Lester, her sisters, Lula and Bonnie, and brother Victor.
She worked at the Stockton State Hospital for 25 years: she enjoyed traveling with her husband until his illness and ultimate death in 1998. She loved to play her organ, play cards, crotchet and garden, but most importantly to be with her family.
Her service will be Wednesday, January 12th, at 1:00 p.m. in Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi, CA. A reception immediately following at Elkhorn Country Club, 1050 Elkhorn Drive in Stockton.
The family would like to sincerely thank all the wonderful people who looked after our mom at The Ashley Place the past 7 months.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Aid Society, 105 S. Washington St, Lodi, CA 95240.
